Cant open file - it's a RAR file, even winzip wont open.. whats wrong? help! thanks

I downloaded a file, it's a video files but the file name say's it's a RAR file and when I attempt to open it at all it says it's not possible, even winzip. I know I mist be doing something wrong here, but i don't really know much about different file types and what to do with each and so on so any help would definitely be appreciated! thank you.

Even winzip? Try Winrar. Then you can say even winrar which makes much more sense. If winrar can't open it, then it isn't a valid rar file.
