hi to everyone.. i'm a newbie and need your assistance with my problem. i have dvd files converted to avi files with a high resolution image. my problem is that when i try to burn avi files to dvd disc, my dvd player will not recognize my disc. so i have these questions:
    1. do avi files burned in dvd disc (dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd rw, etc.) cannot be played with any dvd player?
    2. do avi fles burned in cds also cannot be played with any dvd player?
    3. how can i burn my avi files that can be played with my dvd player?
    thanks a lot..

You need a dvd player that's DivX capable. Those players will play avi's burned onto a dvd-r/+r/RW
    $50+ at walmart for a dvd/divx 1080I upconverting player.
Normal dvd players won't play a avi. You'd have to convert the avi back to a dvd file for your standard dvd player to recognize it.

My big thanks to Rustbuket. You really solved my problem that's been a big puzzle to me. Now i can play and watch my burned avi files with my new dvd player that is capable of playing DivX. What a relief..thanks again.
