Can't play new backup games...(used to be able to )

First off, I'd like to say that I'm absolutely n00b in this so im just gonna ask this.

So i have my 360 modded over a year ago from this store and i got my games from them ever since and the last backup game i got from them was RE5. everything works fine

So i found out they've closed down recently and i went to anohter store to get backup games... got it back found out that the games dont really run... it just reads it like a DVD. i kno its not the game cuz my friend made me a backup game and its the exact same.

WHat is the problem here? what am i missing?

any help would be really appreciated...

.p.s. i think i have a Hitachi dvd rom cuz the tray has the little holes

 

update the FW on the console. but i would wait as there will be a new one out shortly to work with the new wave 4 games.

 

if im reallllly dying to play right now. how do i update the firmware? and how do i check which FW im on right now?

 

please read any of the guides out there. i have no problem helping you, but im not going to spoon feed you through the process.

is it FOR SURE a firmware issue? could there be other reasons?

btw if i update firmware, do i need to know what type of mod i have?

 

i would suggest you listen to wabash and not second guess

 

Yeah, it is definitely the firmware. Your firmware is to old to understand Wave 3 games. But, like already mentioned, just wait until the new release of iXtreme that will be able to handle Wave 4 games. It probably won't be that long.

 

are u saying iextreme 1.6 is already being replaced

 

Not yet, but its gonna be soon, wave 4 games are starting to show up now, so it won't be long until a new ixtreme fw shows up
If you're desperate to play then update to 1.51 on hitachi and 1.6 on all other drives.
