Am absolute newbie. Used dvd decrypter to save to hard drive, then Nero 6 Ultra Edition, selecting "new compilation". When I drag files from my hard disc (which a computer program CAN play as a dvd movie), Nero provides the following message: "You have added dvd-video contnent to a compilation type that will nto result in a DVD-video compliant disc. Please use dvd-video compliant type". I tried burning it anyway, and ended up w/ a dvd that will show the movie on the computer but not play on a dvd player. I also know that the type/brand of dvds I am copying onto are playable by my dvd player. Any ideas???
I'm assume you didn't drag all the files to be burned. After you rip with Decrypter open the files with DVD Shrink. With this program you can strip unwanted audio streams, subtitles, extras, compress if files are over 4.3Gb, etc. When Shrink is done you will end up with dvd compliant files that will play on stand alone dvd players. Plus you can get Shrink to burn the files with Nero automatically http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink.cfm
doraceous, Welcome to the Forum. You should have used Nero recode 2 ( make a movie) instead of the drag to disk method.
PPower--Thanks; it worked just fine. Hope someday I know enough to contribute as well, but for now I am simply bowing to the gods in gratitude!
