i get this message and good ideas were i could get new graphics card that will play this game.its a pain i just bought a new garhics card not to long ago. i know of neww egg .
Have you tried this? Looks like you are missing something. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en
Either that or just the simple fact that the 9250 is way underpowered. I assume that you are using PCI, correct? If so splurge for a radeon 9200. Much more powerful than the 9250(I know the numbers make no sense, right?) Even then it is only still DX8.1. Also maybe the game is just picky that way and won't let you run it unless you meet the Pixel Shader Model requirements. Did that to me with Area 51 and MOH Pacific Assault on my old Celeron Northwood after my FX5700 LE PCI conked out on me. If it really won't let you play maybe you could score an FX 5500. A little more powerful than the 9250 with PS 2.0 *Edit* Oh yeah. If you do get the FX5500 make sure it is one with a 128-bit memory bus. It doesn't matter though if you have 128MB or 256MB of memory though. Atleast not on a card in that performance range.
Is there only one of those green slots on your board? If so it is probably AGP, which would leave you in far better stead. If there are more then you have a PCI slot and your options are quite limited.
Here, I found some cards for you: If you have AGP I think maybe this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814140051 Or if you have a little more money this is a much better choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102289 __________________________________________________________________ I you are stuck to PCI then this is good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143059 Or if you have the cash: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814139166 Like I said, limited options. That is pretty much everything in PCI right there. Face it though. You are two generations behind. Everything in PCI is grossly uder powered. And everything in AGP is also underpowered. But atleast you can still get good cards for AGP for a premium. Like $20-$50 more than the PCI-Express version. PCI is all but extinct and has been phased out. AGP isn't dead yet but it is also being phased out very quickly.

An ASUS 9250 video card right? Do you have PCI or AGP? That is the question. If the slot that it is in is the only one of it's kind on the motherboard then it is AGP. If there are more slots like it it is PCI. Please clarify this first before we jump to a purchase so I can advise you better. And... yes, you got ripped off majorly.
then get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102289 I little more expensive than that FX5500(i think) but much more powerful and it will get you through that game no problem.
You should be okay on newer games. Anything 2004 and under should be perfect. As to upgrading, the truth is that card is already a very old card. It came out in 2003. While you can play some good games with it you will have to be willing to spend $150+ to play anything highend on any higher than low settings. But for Vietcong 2 you will be good. Here's a list of games that will run well with that card: Battlefield 1942 Battlefield Vietnam Conflict Desert Storm Conflict Vietnam Call of Duty 1 Call of Duty: United Offensive Half-Life 1 Half-Life 2(it'll run okayish) Rome: Total War Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion Area 51 Max Payne Max Payne 2(awesome game) Starwars Battlefront Starwars Battlefront 2 Halo(with the 30FPS lock on it'll run great) Anything that looks old will run beautifully on this card i.e. 2002 and under. That's all I can think of for now. If you want any more help with your computer you can send me a private message and I'll gladly help you out.
