I'm trying to upgrade to XBMC 8.10 Atlantis Final on my xbox. I've copied over the new version to my E: drive and called it XBMC_New. I also copied a backup of my userdata folder. I now want to rename my current XBMC folder to XBMC_Old, then rename XMBC_New to XBMC. I have tried using windows explorer, Cute FTP, and Filezilla to rename the XBMC folder, but can't rename it. How can I rename this folder so that I can upgrade to Atlantis? Thanks in advance!
first i have a question for you why do you want to keep old xbmc if you dont want to keep both then go into your old xbmc go to filemanger and hit the white button then go to rename the old xbmc to old and the new one new or even better if you want to use xbmc as your dash go to filemanger hit white button go to newfolder name it dash there is an a side and an b side in file manger now hit right on the controler to go to b side go to your new xbmc hit white button again click select all now hit white button again click move make sure in the a window you re in your newly created dash folder now when you turn on your xbox t will boot to xbmc hopefully this helps you i have never used ftp i use my psp ( the meory stick used to have to be formated in fatx but now with the new xmbc it dosent) xbmc wont read anything 8 gigs or higher it now reads most memory cards and usb drives
