Just installed 2 Memorex DVD/CD burners. When I tried to save a document to a cd, both drives say "Access Denied". The only way to burn something on them is if I go thru Nero. Is there a setting or something I need to change??

Optical discs require recording software such as Nero to record data to a disc. If you are trying to drag and drop data as you would to a floppy disk or hard drive, you must format a rewritable disc first. That also requires recording software, in your case, Nero's InCD. Note that the formatting software will conflict with other formatting software on rewritable media since there are multiple versions of incompatible "packet-writing" format software. (This is also true for floppy disks, but there are only two formats--IBM and Apple--and they were seldom interchanged.) If you want to retrieve data from a rewritable disc on several different computers, then record and finalize the rewritable disc just as you would a CD-R or DVD-/+R. If the disc is going to stay on the same computer, then format it to allow the drag and drop function to work.
