I downloaded a video file and ftp'd it to my xbox but I can't see the video on my xbox. I hear the sound. I had the same problem on my computer's media player but I downloaded the divx codecs and player and it now works in the divx player but not my media. So I am looking for some help on getting the avi file to play on the xbox. Any ideas? Thanks.

You need to get an updated version of the media player with the updated codecs. Ifyou can't find this go to downloads.com and find something to change the format of the file (i.e. make it an uncompressed avi) the file will be bigger but work ok in XBMP.

Okay, I tried to download xbmp 2.4. I extracted the file on my computer, ftp'd it to my xbox. But there is no default.xbe file anywhere in the extracted files. I tried to search for it with no luck.
Anyone know where I can get a copy of xbmp 2.4 with the default.xbe file? I don't understand why the manufactures (ww.xboxmediaplayer.de)of the program would post a download knowing full well that it is missing one of the most important files.
If I download the codec's, where do I put them on the xbox? (i.e. which folder in the xbmp folder) And should they be .dll files?
