cant watch dvd after burning it

hi im having trouble burning videos with my laptop i havent a clue what im doing
when i stick in the blank dvd a copy the video onto it it seems to do everything right but when i put it in the dvd palayer or back onto my laptop i cant watch it do i need certain software or am i using the wrong cd there a DVD+R

 

Need a bit more info, are you trying to backup your DVD or burn downloaded video (what format) that may need encoding first? And not connected probably but use good quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or any made in Japan and burn at 1/2 the rated speed.

 

trying to burn a few that i downloaded and ones i was given by others to watch there different file types

one says avi file,another says file,winodows media audio video file

for the sister to watch i normally just hook the laptop to the tv and wouldnt bother copying them only the sister wants to watch one or two so i need them on a dvd for her to watch

the discs im using are omega freestyle 16x 4.7GB

 

Never heard of Omega, maybe someone else has. Do ignore this part in the guide though and use a more reasonable speed, at least 8X - 12X with 16X media.

To change to the desired speed,
launch "c:\Program Files\DVD Flick\imgburn\imgburn.exe", and set "Write speed" to "1x", "2x", etc (red arrow) on the "Device" tab (green arrow). Close "ImgBurn".

 

hi i tried to burn a dvd it took ages and just when it finished it said there was an iso problem i wasnt able to open this link a while ago but can now http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm

and ive read it and i think its my disc is the problem there from hong kong

How's it going, were you able to get into ImgBurn and set your speed? Max is definitely too fast and at least part of the problem. And remember that too slow is as bad as too fast. Maybe try to open ImgBurn before you start DVD Flick.

 

ya i got into it but it still says iso image was not created when finished where do i find the audio for it when it asks for it

 

I'm sure it's something simple but never used DVD Flick so don't know. The avi contain's the audio already, doesn't it play before you convert? Set DVD Flick to create a DVD folder rather than an iso and don't let it burn the result. Check the vob's (should be 3, 4, 5 in main movie) in the folder first to make sure they are alright and then burn the folder, ImgBurn burn's these as well. ConvertXtoDVD is one you can trial, not free but easy to use with very good result's (fast with excellent qualiity). Has it's own burn engine that has alway's worked fine here but you can download and burn with ImgBurn. The trial is going to leave a watermark in your video though.

 

still having no luck with it still having probems with the iso ya the film plays on the laptop through realplayer i was able to get into img burn and set it at 10x

ConvertXToDVD with good blank media -- that's the key here!
