Can't Write to Windows Regis? Need to be admin.??

    Ok, im trying to install something and everytime i put in serial number and then click install an error pops up and says " Unable to write serial number to windows registry" and then somethign about "Administrative Priviliges" might be at fault! what do i do to fix it? i already know i'm using the admin account ( WinXP) i would really like to get the program to run ( no its not pirated lol). Help.

    The program might be corrupted.
    You could try logging in as "Administrator".
    The password should be blank, under Recovery Console.
    What version of windows are you using?
    Can you run/write to registry editor (start > run > type "regedit")

    Don't mess too much with regedit though, you could serioulsly screw up you computer.
