Just backed both of these up, so I am just leaving the information for anyone whose interested. Derailed: Backed up perfectly with just Shrink & Nero. Region 1 Capote: A lttle complicated. Tried shrink with Nero, Clone2/anydvd and several other, kept getting errors of all kind. Finally changed burners, used Plextor External with DVDshrink & AnyDVD, backed up very slow but came out great.Region 1.
Hi Mr_Pink, when I tried Clone2 I used it with Anydvd. The only thing that worked for me, was changing burners and using shrink with anydvd. It could be a fluke, and Clone2 will work for others. I'm just glad it backed up and came out beautifully.
Thanks for the heads up! I look forward to Capote next week. I still haven't picked up History of Violence or Good Night and Good Luck
DVDFab Decrypter version 2.9.7.2 works in making CORRECT DVD Shrink ISO file without screwing with VoBlanker - go here for more with version history http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/317652#1858778
hey all, these two movies worked flawlessly with anydvd 5.9.4.1 running in background with dvd shrink even chicken little, adventures of brer rabbit, dreamer and river king. happy burning all
Capote did not play well with NeroRecode and AnyDVD(froze)also region1. So I tried my old friend DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD.Decrypter ripped in no time to HDD. So I try NeroRecode again in Advanced Analysis with files on HDD. Opened (just movie)completely normal and recoded the movie in record time since it was working from a separate HDD.Then burn 16X Verbatim @8X. Recode from start to completed burn 17:44 to18:10 with Advanced analysis. 26 mins of AA and recode and burning. Plus the time for Decrypter. Recode works much faster with HDD files than ripping files as it recodes from the burner on my pc. Am I the only one that doesn't know this? LOL Seems for me Anydvd>Decrypter>NeroRecode is faster than AnyDVD and NeroRecode?
AnyDVD will almost always run perfectly. There's no questioning this. But I still use VOBB just to blank those annoying ass fbi warnings, unbearable trailers (the ones that Sony always puts on) and stuff like that. Anyway, I ran it through VOBB for the aforementioned reason. Compressed it with Shrink (removing all the unnecessary audio), and then burned with Decryptor. On top of all that, I did it with a Lightscribe and it looks great. The quality of the video, during playback, looks great as well. For those that care, the compression rate in Shrink was about 60%. Of course I used the deep analysis; quality was set to maximum smoothness.
I used the version of DVDFab listed above and then tried to open w/ Shrink but it is only showing the extras listed under main movie. The main movie file is listed as 0kb under Extras. Any ideas?
Hi razzi75 I have the same problem. I've ripped the movie and loaded the ripped filed into DVD shrink in Re-author mode and still Shrink struggles to see the entire movie. Dried DVDfab platinum trial version in Main movie mode. This didn't work either. Currently trying with Ripit4me and Decrypter. Will let you know how i get on
