I have an hp pavilion media center m8300f pc, it has amd athlob 64X2 dual core processor 3072 mb memory and 640 gig of hd and an nvidia geforce 6150 se graphics card and windows vista home premium. I am using pinnacle 11 ultimate. I tried for a very long time to use the 710 usb box but as many have found out, I never could get it to capture but for more than a min or two and then it would quit. tried many of the solutions suggested here but to no avail. I could not understand why I could not capture with my haupauge tv tuner card until today I found a post where it mentioned that microsofts media center software/drivers make the composit and svideo connections unusable for some reason. So I downloaded haupauge's wintv as suggested and low and behold, now they work and I can make an attempt to capture in studio. All goes well at first, I have my vcr plugged into the card via svideo and composite for sound. I can preview just fine, audio is good during preview however as soon as I hit the capture button the audio dissappears, on every vcr tape I try. does anyone have suggestions for a solution
