In the record dialog box of windows movie maker 1, it shows audio only and no video capture device. In the device manager of my sony vaio laptop I see a legacy video capture device listed. What's wrong?

    walt420,

I'm a bit confused, are you talking about 2 PCs or 1 ?

From your remark about Windows Movie Maker, I assume your on Windows XP.

Device manager is ALWAYS right. So that's a good start.

One pc, a sony laptop. Also, in the record dialog box, I clicked on change device but the video and configure buttons are not highlighted. How do I find out what capture device I have, if I have one, and what about drivers? Do I need one? Sony is no help.
