    Hi all

I have captured some old VHS video using Pinnacle Studio 8 and a Pinnacle DC10+ capture card.

I now want to author the captured video to a suitable format. I don't want to burn straight to DVD at this stage but want to store the files in a suitable format that can be played on the PC or streamed to other PCs, with the option of burning to DVD later.

What video format would be the best to output it to? I have the option of AVI, Mpeg-1 or Mpeg-2 files but not DivX etc.
Any recommendations as I want to maintain a reasonably high level of quality as I think a lot of quality was sacrificed while capturing through composite video?

    Cheers

In what format and resolution was the captured video done?

That's presumably the best quality you're going to get.
    Just save that.

You might have got a slightly better quality using S-video,
but that's probably moot at this point?
