I need to grab several clips off various DVDs. Before, I was
ripping the data off the DVDs, then editing the clips and
    re-compressing.
I know Mac has Final Cut where you can hook up a DVD Player to your computer and click your mouse to start capturing a clip then click mouse again to end capturing.

    I don`t have a Mac.
Do anyone know a program that has this capablity.

PS... I very new to make DVDs.

    Thanks in advance.

    hallo hwj277356!
What are we talking about here?
Am I to understand that you want to "compile" parts of different Dvds to one?
I have no experience of "Mac" so I can`t help you there.

I think his question is the same as mine or maybe not.

I would like to make a "greatest scenes" DVD, but don't know what software would be the best to do this. I don't want to break it down simply by "chapters", but by editing the scenes down to exactly what I would like to see. I also do not have a MAC.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks.

There are several programmes you can use, but the one that works for me is Nero. If you have it:
Got to nero recode>make your own DVD>Import title.
Then you`ll see on the right "Start/End.
Press that and you`ll see two screens with faders underneath.
Move the left fader for clip start, the right to clip end and press ok.
Repeat and so on, for your compilation.
You can also do it by chapters if so choose.

Can`t say I have, but VirtualDub is good if you know how to use it.
I still think Nero though, for all its stubborness, is one of the best.
