wassup.. yea, i was thinking of doing this too... i've checked around and the thing is... you'll need to use your satellite box no matter what to get your channels. cuz the box has a access card and is programmed for your subscription and tells the receiver and sat your a valid customer.. so you would then have to connect your sat receiver to your tv tuner card (preferably through s-video input to get best quality) and then use the scheduling on your sat box to schedule programs to change and then setup your PVR software to record the input or whatever channel you have your sat. receiver going on in your tv card (most likely channel 3 if you use coaxial, or video in if using s-video) hope that made some sense!! however, there might be ways to control your sat. receiver box with your pc but i'm not too up on that yet... hope that helps ya! peace seamonkey420
This looks promising, http://web6.scan.co.uk/Products/Info.asp?WPID=2578 though I have no idea whether or not it will work for your needs, a little pricey, but intriguing
It won't do you any good if it's Sky digital you're after as you can only get that with an official Sky digi box. They don't make a seperate decoder module for use in other satellite recievers or PC cards. Watcher
