I am already paying for service and leases on several receivers...I just wanted to add a couple more so I got got the xtra receiver's with the cards in place...but, when I hooked up, it says to call for activation. So, is there a way to activate without paying xtra monthly fees?
In a word, no. Reason being everything is controlled on DirecTv's end. If they don't flash the access card so that it is authorized to recieve programming, no go. Only way to get more boxes without paying for it is steal your friends box, which is illegal and after a few days he would notice it missing. XD Besides you're only paying $4.99 extra per extra box.
