Hello, I am fairly new to this process...although I have been making backups of my DVD's for quite some time. Recently I got a copy of a DVD that was ripped to Xvid format. I had done some reading on how to convert it to DVDR format because this movie was of fairly decent quality for Xvid. I followed the following guide to a T, and am still recieving the problem that I will describe in a minute:

    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/divx_to_dvdr_with_dvd2svcd_normal.cfm

My problem is as follows: Everything appears to work fine the entire process. I use virtualDub to combine the 2 avi. files and create a single avi. I have checked to make sure that this single avi file works and is actually what i am looking for. Then when I go to encode it with DVD2SVCD and CCE (have tried versions 2.5 and 2.67 same thing happends each time, only with a huge time difference)the programs work for a while and finish successfully. Then when I go to look at the output, or burn it to a DVD, it is as if I never combined the two avi segments because only the first segment is converted to DVDr format.

I have tried everything, I have tried multiple times and still am getting the same problem. Quality on the part that works is great, now if only I could get it to convert the whole movie and not just the first half.

    Anybody have any ideas/suggestions??

I may have forgotten to list the details. I am trying to use DVD2SVCD version 1.2.2 build 3 and Cinema Craft Encoder (have tried both 2.5 and 2.67) to re-encode a movie of mine. I have combined the two avi files of the movie that I want to re-encode and checked the file with Divfix and everything seems to be fine. When CCE runs, I have it set to run 4 VBR passes, but instead it just runs once for about one hour and then outputs only the first half of the original avi (at the wrong size I might add) that I wanted re-encoded. It also does not put the chapters in every 300 seconds, which I set in DVD2SVCD. Can anybody help me??
