Ok so I was able to obtain a copy of Beowulf but it comes in 2 parts. The first part is CD 1 and the second part is CD 2.When I unrar them it makes 2 parts Beowulf A.avi and Beowulf B.avi. Is there a way to join these 2 files into 1 file so that I can run it through ConvertXtoDVD?
ConverxtoDVD will join the parts for you. Just choose "Sequential playback". Thanks I'll give it a try. Another question is that on the ConvertXtoDVD Menu of your DVD is there a way to Rename both files so that when you burn it to DVD the Menu will not Say Beowulf part 1 and Beowulf part 2?
well I tried using VirtualDub but keep getting a VariableBit Audio error message so it won't let me append the 2 avi files.I used Moviemaker and then ran single file through ConvertXtoDvd and movie came out perfect in DVD quality. Thanks for all the help.
Did you try to do it directly just using ConverxtoDVD? Curious if with the new version 3 the transition would be noticeable.
DVD Flick is way better at merging AVI's and it's FREE! All you gotta do is add your first video, click on Edit Title, select the Video Sources tab and then add your second source file. It will merge the two videos together after encoding. It syncs audio and video perfectly, I've never had a problem with merging AVI's on DVD Flick. Try it out. ConvertX 3, the very latest Beta can merge AVI's normally into one stream but it's not free and in my opinion, not as robust as DVD Flick.
I found during testing that flick still leaves a noticible stutter at the join.. and no audio if the files have not been split at a master frame. http://www.doeasier.org/joiner/ is free.. and at least it allows you to test that the joined film will have sound etc before you go wasting disks. If it turns out that the resulting joined video has no sound then I re-encode both files using avidemux and then join them.. it seems the easiest way.
