Hey all, I've been playing around with BartPE trying to get a Windows like system running from a cd. Unfortunately, I cannot get BartPE to work properly, and now have many new coasters laying around.

I found ERD Commander, but the cost vs playing around with it for a short time is way out of range.

    Any alternatives?

You know that BartPe doesnt make a "Windows Like" envirometn right? It creates its own enviroment and lets you access hard drives and such. And for problems with BartPE. how are you using it? Once its installed you must leave it installed. To make a bootable cd either use a Original Windows Install CD (NOT A RESTORE DISC!!) or you can also use your windows install folder (C:/Windows).

I got it running from the cd. (Tested in VM, and then burned to a disk, all works fine)

Now my problem is that I cannot see any of the Hardrives. I am interested in editing the registry, There are registry keys from a bad download (trojan) and I cannot edit the registry key because it is protected when running the installed OS (WinXP Pro sp2)

I'll keep looking around to see if I can find some more info about this.

Then start up your computer in safe mode (hit F8 @ boot) and clean it.
