Well maybe this will help check out this discussion there is one solution may or may not works what they basically say is try powering down your pc remove the power to the drive and boot back up then power down again reconnect the drive and boot back up (be sure to unplug the pc when u do all this wouldn't want you getting electicuted) once you boot back up let the drivers reinstall see if it works if not try doing a firmware update dell does post them on their website here are all the links you will need the discussion http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/wind...e]-will-only-play-dvds-but-wont-play-cds.html dell support site www.dell.com
