Hey all, I currently have a NEC ND-3550A dvd burner, and to date, haven't had any problems with the dvd burning, unfortunately, I cannot say the same with cd burning. I burned a bunch of cdr's the other day, and several of them are skipping. I have burned one particular disc with two types of media, Ridata and Memorex, at 48x and 30x, regardless, it always skipped, and in the same spot in each track? I have checked, and the original file does not skip. I'm not sure what it can be aside from maybe a problem with the burner? Anyone have any thoughts on a solution? I was considering just replacing / buying a new drive, but at the moment I'm not sure what to get. I could keep my NEC for dvd's and get a drive that handles cdrs better, but I'm not sure what drive that would be. Alternatively, I could try and take my drive back to my computer shop and change it for another (if this drive is defective). I was considering the LG GSA4167B. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scott
What drive are you hearing the skipping from? What's you burn program for those cds? Play one of those cds that skips, in the NEC drive on your pc.See if it plays it ok. You may even try a few with a 12x burn and see if it improves. That's how fast I burn cds on all 3 of my benqs.
I have heard the skipping from my two computer drives as well as my car cd player. I used Nero 7.0, which I now understand had issues with burning cds. I think that might be my problem. Im going to switch back to 6.6 and see if that fixes it. Regardless, I think I'm going to start burning at slower speeds. Thanks for the help
