    Hello all
basically i am burning Cds onto CD Rs, and its taking atleast 15 minutes to do this, when i first purchased my PC about 2 months ago this used to take at the most 4 mins, now to rip a CD it takes 15-20 and roughly the same time to burn them, Have you any suggestions as to why this has happened? I use either SONIC , iTunes or Win Meida player, I installed Nero before but had to uninstall it as this caused all sorts of problems. I uninstalled it, used the Nero clean tool etc, reset the BIOS on start up after uninstalled the DVD drives in Device Manager, this cleared up the errors i was getting , but now the burns and ripping are successful but just take way too long.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks alot

Problem sorted by ddp, all my DMA setting were off so i uninstalled the primary and secondary ide, and windows reinstalled them automatically to the correct settings on start up, playback, ripping and burning are all working perfectly now..
