Sometimes when I label a CD, DVD or make an insert I notice that the photo or graphics appears to be stretched. If I only have a small jpeg photo (about 2" x 3") is there any way to expand it without distorting the images. I've tried using Neato and other label programs but they all distort the picture. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Natb
Probably you have, for example, a 10x18 image and you're trying to expand it to 12x12. Therefore the 2nd axis is stretched (dim=12/10*12/18 original dim while the 1st is 12/10 of the original dim). My suggestion is extremely simple: you use Winword, nothing more exotic. Simply insert the image keeping the X/Y proportions fixed (this is a default option of Winword: keep checked this option). Just insert the image on a 1x1 table, withn the dimension the table to be = your desired cover (just to be sure, when you cut it) and choose the greater axis to be exactly like the table size. You'll have a white area filling the missing space. Remember=KEEP THE X/Y PROPORTION FIXED (default in Winword) when you resize the image.
I tried using "word" and it worked! When resizing you just have to hold the SHIFT key and it keeps your image proportional. Now I can easily make DVD inserts (covers). My other problem is with CD/DVD labels. Any suggestions or programs that make it easy to put a label with text & a photo on a CD or DVD. I've tried Neato (2 versions) & others but when you fit to the label it distorts the photos. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I'd be willing to purchase label software if I know it's easy to use and works. Natb
