    I've burned a CD 3 times and each time it skips in the same spot and skips on every song. I can play the MP3s fine with no problem. I dunno if it's an issue with Nero or what. Anyone ever had this problem?

    Reduce your burn speed to 16X-24X and see if there is an improvement. Also don't multitask during the burn.

    Certain mp3's have given me the same problem. I converted them to .wav files and then burnt them using Nero.... problem solved.

    Well I tried burning on all speeds as low as 12 on both of my burners and it still does it. I thought maybe it was the MP3s I got but I ripped a CD I borrowed from a friend and it did the same thing. Any other ideas why this could be happening all of a sudden? I've been burning CDs for years and have burned close to a 1000 and I've never had this happen.

    Are you using Nero and if so which version are you using, have you updated recently?

    I'm using version 7.0.8.3. Also I was able to burn the MP3s to an MP3 disc and they played skip free.

    your problem is the mp3pro dll. file, you need to replace this file with an earlier version or convert your mp3s to wav before burning

    Why would this happen just outta no where? I haven't made any changes at all or installed anything new that couldn't conflicted with Nero.

    Also I'm not doing anything else. Reboot and just fire up Nero. But I've multi-tasked plenty of other times before and not had this problem.

    Where do I find this DLL I need?

    Can you post a Nero log of your last burn, we may be able to pick something up from there, it's located here
    Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory

    Don't worry about this dll, MP3pro is a pay plugin to convert CD and Wav files to MP3 it does not apply to the problems you are having.

    @Steve7481
    Here's 2 threads from just 2 sites (there are several more sites that report the same thing) on that same problem throughout the different versions of 7.
    http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/tm.asp?m=120993&mpage=6&key=
    http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=147397

    It seems it only happens to some uses (but alot of them) only mp3's converting to audio. Happened to me. I have not tried replaced the mp3pro.dll (need to reinstall 7 1st) Seems to work for some.

    @Arniebear
    I don't think this one is a pay plugin. I could be wrong (so please correct me if I am)- It's in common files>ahead>audio plugins.
    The one that's supposed to work is from Nero 6 - version 2.0.4.7 of the mp3pro.dll

    You probably are correct, I have the MP3pro plugin for Nero6 which does the encoding and does add another dll for this. I agree though this problem is what made me give up 7 when it first came out as my CD's were skipping even bought a new drive, but it is only in the CD burning and not any other burning app.

    @steve7481
    Okay since it's not a pay one if you interested I can host a link here or pm you a link for the .dll. The one may take care it. If not I have the other 2 component .dll's that may do the trick.

    @arnibear
    I think I'm going to reinstall 7 again - just lazy :0) This was really the only problem I had too - rest was fine for the few weeks I used it.
    Didn't play w/ vision much though if at all. Are you using the latest 7?

    @binkie

    I did a Beta test of Windows Vista, what a dog. Anyway nothing worked Nero 7 bombed but Vista took Nero 6, go figure. Got rid of Vista in three days and when I reformated I went back to 6, I did not like that NVE took so long to load, also Nero Recode seems to be slower than in 6, but that could just by my opinion.

    Oh no Arniebear - not a ginuea pig for Microsoft Vista!! You're brave!
    I don't think I'll touch Vista - for guite some time :)

    The NVE seems like a redundant registry check problem and anti virus. Again it looks like depending on the pc some may not even really notice the difference in loading times. Didn't see any slowness but I dumped Norton on that pc for Kapersky.

    Hmmm maybe I'll just what for the next release from Nero instead.

    ediited to add: check this tool(free) on the registry bit if you're ever interested:

    You could be right on antivirus, although at the time I do not think I had it running, or even starting. The only thing good I can say about Vista is it is like my computer took a laxative, it got a thorough cleaning :eek:

    i should have explained my post a bit more but i was in a rush because i was going out to watch the england match.
    anyway the mp3pro dll file that installs with all versions of nero 7 is ver 2.0.10.0 if you relace this version with 2.0.4.7 then all your cds stop skipping. i am currently using nero 7082 and before i switched the file all my cds were skipping

    To Solve the problem of skipping cd's first install nero 7.0.5.4 or earlier, then go to C:\program files\commom files\ahead\audio plugins
    then paste this file to your desktop 'mp3pro.dll'. Then you can update to 7.0.82 or higher then just copy the 'mp3pro.dll' back to
    C:\program files\common files\ahead\audio plugins when it says replace just click yes this should solve your problem, did for me anyway
