All of the sudden when i try to burn a audio CD just like i have for the last 3+ years with nero7, when i put the CD in its plays like the first 3 seconds of each song and then silence. If you fast forward it will play until another point in the song and does the same thing. Im using the same CD-R's i always have. i did update my drive recently its a plextor CD/DVD ROM drive. from the plextor website would that have anything to do with it? any other suggestions? thanks in advance
If the recording drive is the only thing that has changed, that is the most likely place to start. What is the rated speed of the discs and at what speed are you recording? Are the playback units the same as before? It could be a problem with the drive or an incompatibility with the particular CD-Rs you are using. There is also a chance that the CD-Rs may have changed (unless they are from the same stock that you used before). CD-Rs seem simply in comparison with DVD+/-R discs, but I have seen odd results from good discs on good drives now and then.
I don't know why upgrading your bios would cause this problem. I always difer updating anything just to keep current. I upgrade because I am fixing a problem. Otherwise you run the risk where you were fine and now you aren't. I concur with JoeRyan. I have no errors but your product is bad. You aren't using cue files to burn are you?
