Anybody know what's going on here? I am using Nero 6.0.0.9, my media is Verbatim 52x CD-R, My drives are 1) CD-RW SONY CRX320E 2)DVD/CD-RW DW-U18A. My system.....is fine. My problem is, that audio CD's I am burning will not work in my disco cd players, or even in my car for that matter. But these discs will play fine in my PC drives as an audio CD. The music is MP3, burnt in Nero as 'audio CD' at 24x to be safe. I have used 100's of these discs and never had a problem and I can't see this being a problem with the media. I have not changed any settins that I know of and both drives seem to work fine for burning data, video etc. I am NOT burning as MP3 disc or anything daft. I just don't understand why one day it all works fine and now this is happening? Any ideas where to start, which settings to look at etc etc? ps, this is happening when burning on either drive so I'm assuming it is a Nero thing?
Have you installed anything that may have changed a codec or something? I can not get a reproduction of that problem with nero 7 on my comp or nero 6 on the wifes. If you look at the disk that plays on the comp but not on the cd players in explorer what do the tracks look like?
just in case it's something daft, let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"
thanks guys, defo clicked 'audio cd' as normal, tracks on the cd? do you mean how it looks on the actual disc? if so it looks fine, no streaks or rings etc. Nothing new installed apart from new update of morpeus which has buggered my pc up before now! here's the log: 13:13:57 #11 Phase 36 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1843 Burn process started at 40x (6,000 KB/s) 13:13:57 #12 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 0 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #0 13:13:57 #13 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 1 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #16078 13:13:57 #14 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 2 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #34176 13:13:57 #15 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 3 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #47458 13:13:57 #16 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 4 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #67203 13:13:57 #17 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 5 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #88590 13:13:57 #18 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 6 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #108541 13:13:57 #19 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 7 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #120694 13:13:57 #20 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 8 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #141781 13:13:57 #21 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 9 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #159943 13:13:57 #22 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 10 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #196588 13:13:57 #23 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 11 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #233194 13:13:57 #24 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 12 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #267090 13:13:57 #25 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 13 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #282535 13:13:57 #26 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2130 Verifying disc position of item 14 (relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #320642 13:13:57 #27 Text 0 File Mmc.cpp, Line 14266 StartDAO : CD-Text - On 13:13:57 #28 Text 0 File Mmc.cpp, Line 18724 Set BUFE: Power-Burn -> ON , Generic write control : ON 13:13:57 #29 Text 0 File Mmc.cpp, Line 14566 CueData, Len=256 21 00 00 41 00 00 00 00 21 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 21 01 01 00 00 00 02 00 21 02 00 00 00 03 22 1c 21 02 01 00 00 03 24 1c 21 03 00 00 00 07 23 33 21 03 01 00 00 07 25 33 21 04 00 00 00 0a 20 3a 21 04 01 00 00 0a 22 3a 21 05 00 00 00 0e 38 03 21 05 01 00 00 0e 3a 03 21 06 00 00 00 13 29 0f 21 06 01 00 00 13 2b 0f 21 07 00 00 00 18 07 10 21 07 01 00 00 18 09 10 21 08 00 00 00 1a 31 13 21 08 01 00 00 1a 33 13 21 09 00 00 00 1f 1e 1f 21 09 01 00 00 1f 20 1f 21 0a 00 00 00 23 20 2b 21 0a 01 00 00 23 22 2b 21 0b 00 00 00 2b 29 0d 21 0b 01 00 00 2b 2b 0d 21 0c 00 00 00 33 31 13 21 0c 01 00 00 33 33 13 21 0d 00 00 00 3b 15 0f 21 0d 01 00 00 3b 17 0f 21 0e 00 00 00 3e 2f 0a 21 0e 01 00 00 3e 31 0a 21 0f 00 00 00 47 0f 11 21 0f 01 00 00 47 11 11 01 aa 01 01 00 4e 09 15 13:17:10 #30 Text 0 File WriterStatus.cpp, Line 113 <SONY DVD RW DW-U18A > start writing Lead-Out at LBA 351546 (55D3Ah), lenght 0 blocks 13:17:13 #31 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 227 all writers idle, stopping conversion 13:17:13 #32 Text 0 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1703 Set remaining time: 0:00,000 (0ms) -> OK 13:17:13 #33 Phase 37 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1843 Burn process completed successfully at 40x (6,000 KB/s) Existing drivers: File 'Drivers\ASPI32.SYS': Ver=4.57 (1008), size=23936 bytes, created 23/12/1997 02:02:46 File 'Drivers\atapi.sys': Ver=5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158), size=95360 bytes, created 04/08/2004 12:00:00 (Adapter driver for rec)
When I say Morpeus buggered my PC, that was the last time I updated it, my pc has been reformatted and xp reinstalled since then. I did the most recent update a few days ago and it seemed ok this time. I really hope i haven't done something stupid here but I realy can't think of anything that has changed. i havn't deliberately changed any settings, media is the same???? god knows.
Sounds similar to my problem. You even used just about the same words "but I didn't change anything!", lol. Mine is described in this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/274016 Have you figured anything out? In my case, even the players on my PC don't recognize my CDs as audio. If I look at them as data disks (like in Windows Explorer) they are fine, with .cda files. If I change Nero from DAO to TAO, that solves that problem, but then I can't burn any text onto the CD. Thanks, Ted
Hi Ted just had a look at your thread and it sounds very similar! I'm not a nero expert and have never heard of some of those options you mentioned (I have never had the need to change anything before, like you said it has always been idiot proof!) I will have a look when I get a minute and let you know how I get on. By the way, do you think this might have something to do with it? "This version of the application can not run in this language" It appears every time I start Nero, it never used to but has done since putting my 'real' version of SP2 XP on (before that I was being a bit naughty) Though this message has appeared for a while now and never caused any problems before. You just click 'ok' and Nero lets you get on as normal.
Hi All, I've just installed Nero 7 and I get same situation with audio CD's. It plays normal on the PC but when I try to play it on my CD player, it always shows a "no disc" message. By now I've solved it using Adobe Audition, but I never had this issue with Nero 6. Could this have something to do with having the short lead out feature enabled?
