Hi I thought that I would post this here as I have an CD-R that I want to watch on TV instead of the notebook.
It is tedious to do it this way and it is something I need to thoroughly understand for my work and so I wondered if I can convert it over to a DVD format???
Everyone at work is complaining about this CD as it is over an hour long and quite boring to sit on the computer chair and watch.
A little more comfort would make learning a lot better.

I hope an experienced user has a solution to this horrible problem.

And I indeed hope that there is a resolution to it !!!

I look forward to comments, thank you

Is it a VCD or an AVI?
A VCD has a folder named MPEGAV and contains the video [AVSEQ01.DAT], if dragged onto the desktop and renamed .mpg then most conversion programs will turn it into a DVD.
If it's an AVI then it's a straightforward conversion.

It is actually in "mpeg" format according to the cd, however does not play on the dvd player which has to be in another format, correct. I am not certain about all these formats etc. and how to convert to dvd.
    Thank you

Hmmm...still somewhat confused. The G Spot and Codecs, the way I read them seem to refer to my system which plays the "mpeg" cd-r OK and the others at work. However it would be more reasonable to watch it via the dvd player on a larger screen.

Have I got this confused here? Thinking that Gspot and Codecs are to select the best tool to make the cd-r operable on a computer system when the cd-r does not work?
Thank you for your patience and help.

The initial post mentions the CD, but is does not mention the format of the video on the CD.
Unless the format is known, it's hard to choose a tool to convert it to DVD format, then burn to disk.
It seems that the CD contains mpeg video, so the program listed earlier is able to convert it to DVD (If you have Nero installed on the PC, it can perform the same function).
Once converted to DVD format the folder containing the new files can be burned to DVD disk using Nero (if you have it) or a burning program like 'IMGBurn' (can be downloaded from afterdawn).
    Hope this helps!

So if the cd-r that indicates mpeg video format on it is correct then
all I do is use the Nero program?

    get dvd flick free

copy mpeg off cdr to hard drive

    load mpeg into dvd flick

set project options to PAL or NTSC

(place dvdr in pc dvdRW drive) click convert button

have a coffee for an hour.
