Do I post this question about VD+R(W) media here? Please redirect me if not.

I have a TDK burner and have burned a DVDShrink session on a disk, successfully. Now I cannot erase or format this rewritable disk with Nero 6 InCD.

The files say "write protected" and I can't change the setting (I've tried). I have two other disks which refuse to be seen.

The disks are new TDKs and have no scratches. Other disks, both CDs and DVDs seem to be just fine.

Been working on this for a while now. Any suggestions?

This happens occasionally. Try using other programs besides Nero to erase the disc. Eventually you'll find one that works.

Thanks for the answer. Always the learning curve...

Do you have any suggestions for what apps to use? The only other burning program I have is Creator with Roxio and as I understand it, not compatible with Nero.

Just keep trying every app you can get your hands on. I don't think there's any special one that will work in all occassions. Some apps don't have any direct way of erasing a disc, so you have to pretend you're making a dvd and then it will ask you if you want to write over the contents of the disc in the drive. As soon as the disc erases (if it works) then you can abort the app before it starts writing a new dvd.
