CD-ROM/DVD-ROM and DVD+RW Drives don't show up

    I was having trouble with DVD X Copy Xpress-read a thread on here saying to delete the following in WIndows/system32 :
    Gearsec.exe Gearaspi.dll and gearaspiwdm.sys
    I did that and great-no disc drives. Anybody know how to fix this? I'm running XP, system restore wasn't enabled-my mistake. I could use any pointers on this one! Thanks

    Hi there,

    I would say other then reinstalling xp i would suggest finding someone that runs xp and can provide you with the files. I run 2000 so i can't help. Good Luck.
