Spending a lot of time and money on getting cd text burned on my cd. This includes isrc text.

I have 5 burners (new and old) that "support cd text."
But when I test them with Nero InfoTool 5, it says it can read, but not write.
When I try to burn cd with cd text with CDarchitect, I get an error with all burners, because burner cannot burn cd text.
Bought Nero 10. It burns without errors on the same "cannot burn burner."
But when I open the cd with the latest version of WMP, it sees no cd text info.
But EAC does read everything from the same cd.

Are there different versions of cd text / isrc codes.

I am completely stuck. How do I get cd text / isrc on the cd without problems.

I don't use Nero or WMP, but from the CD-Text wiki I got this regarding WMP..Perhaps other WMP users can chime in..
    http://bmproductions.fixnum.org/index.htm?http://bmproductions.fixnum.org/moreprogs/wmpcdtext.htm

I use apps like foobar2k, Mediamonkey, Winamp, EAC, dBpoweramp etc. all support/read CD-text when ripping and I usually burn with burrrn or CDBurnerXP which suport CD-Text burning.
There's also Imgburn which can burn CD-Text, but first you need to create a CUE file.

I burned with Nero with CD text.
EAC can read this CD-text on the disk.
    W Media Player cannot.
Nero hasn't burned a cue file. That is, I don't see a cue file on the disk.
So how can EAC see the CD text and WMP cannot?

B/C not all SW supports it..Did you read the info from the link I provided or not?..See also,
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-Text
You can rip and create a CUE with EAC..Or you can create a CUE with Imgburn, and burn an Audio CD..
    http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5555

EDIT: just to add, a CUE file is just a seperate text file that simply lays out the tracks on a disc..You wont actually see the CUE sheet(file) on the CD..

Yes, got it. Not at home right now, so can't do it and working from memory (mine).

Because EAC can read the CD-text created by Nero, does that mean there is a cue file on the disk?

It looks like the the problem is with Windows Media Player and not the burning of CD-text/cue file. Strange, because I have the latest version. WMP player says "Unknown artist", although it looks like there is a cue file. So it tries to read.

I have suggestion, try a new piece of software. I burn most of my CDs with Media Monkey (MM). In 8 years I have never seen 1 complaint about that process with MM. Nero gets maybe one a month on a yearly average and WMP has triple that (both over the 8 yrs).

There are some cases where the person is dead set on doing it a certain way and feel it is a weakness to use an easy method. They feel the hardest method possible is the best way. I can tell you the I trust MM infinitely more for quality than those morons at Nero. MM 4 will start using accurip which puts them on a very short list of quality rippers. Some persons turn up their noses at MM becausue it is so easy to use. They figure it can't be good. I have no indication of that. I have seen some complaints of most of the other burning processes as well at 1-2 per year.

The process is moron proof. You get to put what you want in the 2 sections of text. It is great for burning mp3 CDs and DVDs because it highlights in read possible dupes ect and ect. Some people prefer to rough it and you might be one of those. Me I like to do it the easy way as long as there is no quality hit. It is rare for these threads to go on after I mention MM unless the person doesn't try it. Oh I never heard once a complaint about the MM burn process even though the free version burns slow. It doesn't burn all that slow.
