Hi. I'm having a problem where after I burn a data CD (on CDR or CDRW), none of my CD drives will read or recongize it (on my computer or laptop).

I get the "burn completed successfully" message but then can't access the CD.

    This sucks. Please help?

You are using a pirated serial number?

Pirated serial number? I don't think so. I bought the burner legitimatly, and the CD's are standard. I'm burning mp3's onto the CD's, but that shouldn't make a difference, should it?

Sorry. I read your post too fast and interpreted CDRW as "CDRWIN". The CDRWin software is known to burn useless discs if one is using a non-legal serial number.

So you haven't ever heard of this problem before? Could it be a problem with my CDRom? Or maybe you have to burn the image file to the CD? What is the image file?

Yeah, when I put the CDR or CDRW into CDRom or burner drive, I get the message:

"Please insert disk into drive f:"

I think maybe I missed a step or something? But the funny thing is I get the "CD burned successfully message" after I burn the CD.

It could be the Nero software, i firt had a lot of problems with it. If you can, try to download a program called RecordNow MAX,(it's 9 MB) Then install it and see if ur burning works. It should work. Post if u need more help.

Are you burning the CD in UDF format ? If yes, you may need to have the UDF reader or in case of Nero, the EasyWrite Reader software installed on system to read the UDF format CD.

No... not writing in UDF format. Still not working. It's strange, because I'm having the same problem on my old computer system and my dad's new system. Yet nobody else on the web seems to be having this problem.

The CD burns alright, but then when I check the drive, it says "please insert CD".

Maybe you're "laving the session open" after burning.
You can leave the CD open, but you must close the session.
Also, insert the faulty CD in the burner, and ask for "recorder/medium info" in Nero. What does it say ?

When I open the Disc-info window, all the fields are blank. The CD doesn't register. I'm getting a message about having to get permission when I start Nero: "Under Windows NT4/2000 burn right are required by Nero to access CD recorders and CD-rom/dvd-rom drives. Please ask your system administrator for a permission to use Nero".

Do you think this has anything to do with my problem?

    I see.
In this case it is possible that Nero burns in fact in the "image recorder" instead of the CDR !
Therefore the CDR remaining blank is never read in any reader, and the burner remains unavailable.
In Nero, click "recorder / choose recorder".
You must select your physical burner, instead of the image recorder.

I have the exact same problem, in that i burn a cdr with Nero and then my SCSI burner can't read it. Strangely my IDE DVD drive can read it just fine. Ive been working on the problem all day and I can't get my burner to read the cd's it says it just successfully burned, its frustrating.

I'll join this club. I am having major problems with nero. So far I have ten assorted coasters (so I know it's not the media). I can query the disk in Nero, the tracks are there but in the mode field it says (?MB) is this right? Im going crazy with this.

The last problem seems to be a buffer underrun. The TOC was properly burned, then the burning crashed.

The other problem before seems to be a bad media/ bad reader/ scratched CD problem.

I keep getting buffer underrun, but it still says burned succesfully. I'm trying to burn a game. Every program I try the buffer bottoms out at upper 90% done...the weird thing is that when I use CDClone, the disk will work fine for me but only install not run on others. When they try to run they get the "please verify Disk is in drive ()" Any ideas? I've tried Nero, Cd Clone, Blind Write, BurnDrive, and Daemon tools (which I can't get to work at all). Could it be that the game is to new to burn (only came out beginning of this month)?

Yes, new games have a new copy-protection to prevent people from burning it. I don't think that is right. I think it's only fair to let us burn a copy for backup purpose. I too, have lost a game due to an accident, and i can't get a replacement.
