I recently plugged in my Lexar Jump drive. the computer recognized the new driver and prompted to install it. although the jump drive isn't supposed to install anything, i continued to do so. somehow i got it to work. But the problem now is that my cdr and dvdrw stopped recognizing my discs. at one point under the list of drives the disc showed as unidentified. Normally, the title of the disc would show up. I should mention that before the jump drive installation, there was a warning about it might affect other drive if i continue installing the jump drive-- i did.
Now, i don't know how to restore my drives. I went to system restore and checked the earlier dates to resptore the system. after that the drives are still not reconizing the disc. Any idea?

try using the hardware install wizard in the control panel to re-install the CD/DVD drives and see if tht works.

Yes, I reinstalled the drives. It worked. An afterdawn tech helped me by showing how to do it. Thank you so much for the reply.
