    Hi,
What has been people's experiences with the Pioneer/Cendyne firmware update that lets you burn 1x discs at 2x? I am hesitant to upgrade because the firmware is not on Pioneer's website. Is there any unrepairable damage I can do to my burner if I try it?
    Thanks

Firmware updating is not really recommended by Pioneer as you do it at you [bold]own[/bold] risk. If you do update your firmware successfully, then your drive becomes alot lot better as it gives you more control and flexability. Worth doing!

From what I have researched, you CANNOT downgrade the firmware. I upgraded mine to 1.21 and it works fine. Just make sure you do it right and you'll have no problems.

Hey djscoop, dunno what you heard but you can down grade as I did it with my 106. The newest firmware was not giving me the results I wanted so I down graded to my origional, which now works fine again.

@flashrjw, yeah its on the same website as the link I gave. I you wanna down grade, then you just simply flash your drive again with the older version you want.
    Done!
