Are they any good at burning protected cd's? I have a Cendyne Internal 48x12x48 Internal CD-RW Drive. The part # is CDICD00118. And is this a 1 or 2 sheep burner? Any replies will be appreciated.
You won't find the CenDyne burners as the "most" recommended burners to backup cd protection. Reports on other forums I visit inform me that "1 sheep" burners have successfully backed up Safedisc 2.8.x-2.9.x and SecuROM 4.8.x (burner must be able to read sub-q). I put an LG 24x burner to the test and successfully backed up The Sims Unleashed and Command & Conquer Generals as both pc game titles have "pre-gap" in the Safedisc cd protection scheme. I could play the backups in my Lite_on LTD 165H& Toshiba SD-M1502 DVD-Rom drive. The latest Alcohol 120 would be the program to start with and in your case simply trial and error. I like the Lite-On LTR 52x burner (2 sheep). Reports of a Plexy 12x backed up Ravenshield(Safedisc 2.8.x) and the copy played in a Samsung dvd-rom. http://www.alcohol-software.com/
