I have been converting avi files for awhile now and haven't run into any trouble until recently. Some of the avi files that I convert and then burn to a disc will not play in my standalone while others do. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is so that I don't waste discs. I change the 4cc code on these files to DIVX, convert with VSO divx to dvd converter and burn with nero. Here is a file that works and plays on my standalone C:\Documents and Settings\J\My Documents\My Videos\avifilename.DVDRip.XviD-DiAMOND.[www."sitename".com]\avifilename.DVDRip.XviD-DiAMOND.[www."sitename".com].avi now here is one that doesn't work C:\Documents and Settings\J\My Documents\My Videos\"filename"DVDRip.XviD-AFO.[www."sitename"]\"filename".2006.DVDRip.XviD-AFO.[www."sitename].avi Is there something that I am missing? Or is there something in the file name that will alert me to knowing that it will not play on my standalone. I'm relatively new to this, and since I have not encountered any problems with proper conversions until now, I am completely lost as to what the problem is. Any help would be great!
Hi there, Did you generate a PAL dvd when you need NTSC ? DivxToDVD is old, and may not support the new codec used in the .AVI container. Did it convert it properly ? Can you play the output files on your Hard Drive ?
