I can't image why, but I have having trouble with certain games (Midnight Club III, Madden 06, most racing games, and a few others), that don't work if I put them on my XBox hard drive.

The catch is this: They USED to work, BEFORE I upgraded my hard drive. Now they either won't load, or crash somewhere arround "Press START to Begin".

I've tried performing an XBE patch on the games (I'm not sure what that does), but it didn't change anything. Beyond that, I don't know what to try, and I can't seem to find any information on the internet (its kind of hard to search for).

I don't understand what the difference is that is keeping these games from running. If any one can shed some light on this, it would certainly be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,

that is odd, i upgraded my HDD and had no problems with any games working. What did you format the drive with?
how are you putting the games on it?
Do they work from a DVD?

I formatted my Hard Drive with the XBOX HD Maker and recovery tool.
I put the games on it via FTP, same as before I upgraded the hard drives.
Unfortunately, I have no idea if they work on DVD. My DVD drive died much like many others, and I haven't replaced it; it's useless. This is why I needed to upgrade my Hard Drive: I can play more than one game without having to wait 20 minutes every time I want to switch.

    Thanks again,

Have you tried FTPing to your Xbox HDD and empty the CACHE folders(delete the files inside the cache folder not the CACHE folder itself) Make sure you go to every folder and if there is a CACHE folder in it delete the files inside. If that dosent work try deleting any Gamesaves you might have for the games that dont work. Doing this will fix the problem with games most of the time due to CACHE files and Game Saves being corupt.
