Hi, I am new to this forum and also new to the video jargons. Recently I happen to come across two xvid titles which failed to play on my Samsung DVD HTDS650. One of the title skipped on Play and the other one failed to move past 00:00:00. I tried to gather lot of info from this as well as different forums and even tried to recompress with VirtualDub using default xvid settings. But to my agaony they remained the same. I also tried resiving the movies but also failed. I also tried mpeg4modifier.exe and following is the dump of the info: Movie title -1 Packed bitstream: Yes QPel: No GMC: No Interlaced: No Aspect ratio: Square pixels Quant type: MPEG I-VOPs: 1185 (0.64%) P-VOPs: 67483 (36.43%) B-VOPs: 116592 (62.93%) S-VOPs: 0 (0.00%) N-VOPs: 0 (0.00%) Max consecutive B-VOPs: 2 1 consec: 22.43% 2 consec: 77.57% WxH: 800x432 Bit RAte: 448kbps Frame rate: 23 frames/s Data rate: 172kbps Video Sampler SIze: 24bit comp: XVID Movie Title 2 Packed bitstream: Yes QPel: No GMC: No Interlaced: No Aspect ratio: Square pixels Quant type: MPEG I-VOPs: 2049 (1.01%) P-VOPs: 77399 (38.08%) B-VOPs: 123791 (60.91%) S-VOPs: 0 (0.00%) N-VOPs: 0 (0.00%) Max consecutive B-VOPs: 2 1 consec: 32.66% 2 consec: 67.34% WxH: 656x272 Bit RAte: 448kbps Frame rate: 23 frames/s Data rate: 118kbps Video Sampler SIze: 16bit comp: XVID Kindly help me to understand the core problem. Waiting for your replies.
First one is easy. The width is 800. Stop downloading WAF releases. 2nd one, I am not sure. If "skipped on Play" applies to it then I would suggest that your player is MTK based and hasn't been updated to handle packed bitstream and > 1 consecutive bframe. Unpack and try it again.
