Let's try this method: Cable box/sattelite, vcr, dvr, tv with antenna hookup.

    1. Coaxial cable from the wall goes to your cable box/sattelite INPUT ( ant in )
    2. Coaxial cable from the cable box/sattelite OUPUT (out to tv) goes to vcr coaxial INPUT (ant in)
    3. Coaxial cable from the vcr OUTPUT (to tv) goes to the coaxial INPUT (antenna) (left side looking from the back) on the DVR1500/2500.
    4. Rca cable (yellow, red, white) video/audio OUTPUT on the DVR1500/2500 to the video/audio INPUT of the RF modulator
    5. Coaxial cable OUTPUT on the RF modulator to the coaxial INPUT of the tv (ant in)
    6. Your tv should be on channel 3 or 4. Whatever you had before to watch cable.
    7. Cable box/sattelite, DVR, TV, and RF modulator should be ON. VCR should be OFF.
    8. You should see a menu asking for Language on your tv when you have the correct channel on ( 3 or 4 depend on the switch of your cable box/sattelite, vcr, and rf modulator) If it's channel 3 then all those units should be switched to 3.
8b. If you don’t see the language menu then either the connection is not correct or the channel on the tv and channel switch ( 3 or 4) on the units are not right.
    9. If you see the language menu use the up/down/left/right/enter key on the dvr remote to finish the setup. Move the arrow key to the right when you are done to highlight finished or complete and hit ENTER. Now the dvr should be working.
    10. Hit the DVD/Live tv button on the dvr remote to "LIVE" mode. The hit SOURCE to bring down a menu and highlight TV and hit ENTER. Channel 002 should display. Hit 003 or 004 depend on the switch of your cable box/sattelite. You should get a picture.

If you only have a Cable box/Sattelite, VCR, DVR1500, and TV with video/audio input then you can try this setup:

    1. Coaxial cable from the wall goes to your cable box/sattelite INPUT ( ant in )
    2. Coaxial cable from the cable box/sattelite OUPUT (out to tv) goes to vcr coaxial INPUT (ant in)
    3. Coaxial cable from the vcr OUTPUT (to tv) goes to the coaxial INPUT (antenna)(left side looking from the back) on the DVR1500/2500.
    4. Rca cable (yellow, red, white) video/audio OUTPUT on the DVR1500/2500 to the video/audio INPUT of the TV.
    5. Cable box/sattelite, DVR, and TV should be ON. VCR should be OFF.
6 You should see a menu asking for Language on your tv when you have the correct video source (video1, video2, video3, ... etc) (Look for a button on the original tv remote that says INPUT, VIDEO SOURCE, VIDEO MODE, LINE IN, or something like that)
6b. If you don't see the language menu then either the connection is not correct or the video source on the tv is not right.
    7. If you see the language menu use the up/down/left/right/enter key on the dvr remote to finish the setup. Move the arrow key to the right when you are done to highlight finished or complete and hit ENTER. Now the dvr should be working.
    8. Hit the DVD/Live tv button on the dvr remote to "LIVE" mode. The hit SOURCE to bring down a menu and highlight TV and hit ENTER. Channel 002 should display. Hit 003 or 004 depend on the switch of your cable box. You should get a picture.
