    Hi,

Can anybody tell me if ch**us digital is available in Mullingar area???

A year or so ago, if you connected directly to the cable passing your house you would get roughly 21 analogue stations! If you connect now all you get is the 4 irish stations. My guess is its been upgraded to digital. Connecting the box (DVB-C or DVB-T) no channels are found!

Could it just be a case that they introduced an analogue box to try to reduced number of people hooking up illegally?? To me though this would make no sense!

If you have a cable that provided some channels even if they were analogue now that they are gone to digital the DVB-C 'c' representing Cable will get you channels with the correct setting of your Unit / Box the sigle most important thing to know is the Sybol rate of your supplier (cable provider) then how to input that info to your box/Unit
This info tells the box how to find channels (not where)

I've tried DVB-C with correct symbol rate for chorus (auto scan and manual scan with frequencies found on the forum) but the thing is knowing whether the fed coming into the house is cable or mmds. Our area is cabled but I think it could be fed from mmds headend.

There is no symbol rate for box-t but have tried a lot of different frequencies with no luck!

no aerials like that in my area, its all cabled. but in other area's outside town they have those mmds aerials.

Is there any way with BOX-C to autoscan the full range of possible frequencies? without having to manually put them in.

Its not picking up any channels on the autoscan but could it also be the case that I was just unlucky with the frequencies I checked manually?

main menu go to USER INSTALATION (OK) then press Yellow button to do a POWERSCAN , go down to Symbol Rate and change it to 6.875,go back up to mode and change it from NORMAL to FULL (scroll over on remote), and press OK and wait for channels to scan in.. could take a while

Try a manual scan via 322mhz, 323mhz and 324mhz and symbol rate 6875.
If its ch*rus cable you should get channels at one of the frequencies via a cable box.

AFAIK and has already been indicated it should be DVB T in that particular area. Also some portions of the area remain analogue others have undergone a recent digital upgrade with the remainder of the area to follow soon.
