Hey, I was wondering if anyone has a way to get my Chameleon working. When I flash it from Cromwell, it says it's flashing, but when I put it in bank 0, it just boots up to the M$ dashboard or doesnt boot at all. This only happens when flashing with either EvoX/ X2 BIOS, because when I flash it with Cromwell (I have a Samsung DVD drive so I don't need a dummy file!) it works. The xbox is version 1.1, and the Chameleon is version 1.3. I don't want to spend an extra 12$ on the programmer, so I'm posting a message here.
    Thanks,

    Richard

Best thing to do is flash it with a color mod bios. Then you'll know for sure if the chip flashed correctly as soon as you turn on the Xbox. You'll have a different color X besides the normal green one at start up.

When you use a non color mod Evox bios you won't notice anything different about your XBox. So it may have been flashed correctly and you just didin't know it.

Well, I reflashed it with the EvoX M7 BIOS, and it boots up once, fails, boots up a second time, fails, and on the third time, it boots up with no audio/video, and the led flashes Red/Green. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Could have been just a bad flash. Switch the DIP switches to boot from a different bank and reflash using another bios disc. Then switch back to Bank 0 and see if it's any better.

Thanks for the help RustyDog, but I've been doing that since the night of october 30th, and have tried EvoX BIOS from three different sources (www.xb*x-tr*be.com, Kazaa, and IRC).
Any ideas, or should I just buy the programmer? thanks!

Getting an External programmer is always a good idea with any chip since you can flash AND verify it programmed correctly. That is unless you can buy a chip preflashed with the bios you want.

Well, its correctly flashed now, and running Slayer's EvoX which, there are two problems with.

    1. The dash that I installed, version 3921 is pretty old, and
    2. The M$ dash doesn't work in the Music/Memory/Xbox Live/Settings menu options.

Where can I get Team Xavier's auto installer and where can I get a new M$ dash???
    Thanks

That's the newest EvolutionX dash released.

Check out xbox100.com for info on Team Xaviers.

I used the EvoX.D6. Blue bios and named it linuxbio.bin put it on a TDK cd-rw burned at 4x and popped it in while running Cromwell, and it flashed.
BTW rusty, my M$ dash doesnt want to work at all, and i cant find anything at all on team xaviers installer.oh, and my XBMP isnt working and boXplorer doesnt seem to be on my xbox at all, and theres no system settings or apps menu items in EvoX. Big problems!

    I used Slayer's EvoX (3921) auto-installer 2.5. It doesn't seem to like 8.2 gb hd's.
    Thanks,

It could have been a bad disc. Try another Brnad of disc and reinstall everything and see if it helps.
If not try the Team Xavier Installer.
