change hard drive

    i have a old 40gb hdd that i want to use in place of the 30gb in my ibook. can i switch them? the 40 is a laptop hd. only problem is that i don't have tiger's OS cd's. but i found a torrent that is Mac OSX Tiger 10.4 PowerPC (4 CD's).
    are those cds the OS?
