    Hi!

I am wondering how I change the write speed in nero7. I want to burn at 4x but the write speed wont go under 16x. I can only choose between 16 - 48x. Is there any way to fix this?

I have the same problem, tho I can only write from 6x to 16x. it must have something to do with the version of nero. on another computer, I have an earlier version of nero---6.18 or something like that--which lets me write from 2x thru 16x. I have emailed nero and gotten no response and even posted this question in afterdawn forums, but never got an answer as to why we cannot burn at low speeds in nero 7 ultra. if anyone knows, at least two of us here would like to hear from you

Make sure you have a blank disc in the drive before using Nero. Here is what i got when i didnt have a disc in the drive.

Also check your firmware, and make sure it is current. Nero InfoTool will check it for you and tell you the version number. If you dont know how to find the current firmware update, just list the info from nero for your drive, and we will check it for you.
16-48x sounds like CD burn speeds although DVD media is now getting up to 16x and beyond.
Sometimes its the media that will not let you burn at some speeds, so check/change media, and check the firmware for the drive.
The blog entry i posted was not from version 7. I just burned a movie in Recode nero 7.0.8.2 . Let me check the burn speeds.
I think it depends on the burner you have, and the media.
Here is what is shows me for my liteon with Sony Ty media:

and the same thing only this time changing to Sony D21 media.

Notice the higher burn speeds available, it lets me go down to 4x on both media, and unless you are burning a dual layer disc, you shouldnt have to burn below 4x on anything.
