besides using the ipconfig release/renew method and calling your isp to have it renewed (because I was told to do the ipconfig) how can I change my ip address? I'm at a complete loss. Thanx in advance!

is yours dynamic or static ip? don't need to call isp to renew it as i've never called them as i just did the release\renew routine or disconnect the power & data cables to modem, count to 20 then reconnect power & data cables to modem in that order.

being static means you have to call your isp to change it & they might not do it except for a good reason.
