How do I change the burn speed on nero? I'm trying to use DVD Shrink with Nero, but I've heard that its best to only burn at 4x. How do I make sure that this is the setting that I'm using? I have the newest version of the nero demo.

At the burn compilation screen in Nero, there should be a drop-down to select burn speed. Sometimes "max speed" is default. Select 4x. You're right, it is recommended that you burn at 4x for 8x DVDR's.

Ok, I know I'm a complete newb, but I can't find the burn compilation screen on this new version. Like I say, I use DVD Shrink to compress, and have it set to automatically burn using nero. I've tried to find the options in startsmart and home, but I'm just not seeing it. Any help please?

You can control the burning speed through DVD Shrink. When you are using DVD shrink and click on the backup button, a menu with tabs on the top comes up with the name for the DVD, etc...
Click on the tab to the farthest right side "Burn Settings", and on this page it allows you to select the speed.
