title says it all.....I have an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe mobo and I am in the process of changing the tiny little fan and heatsink on top of the chipset....just one roblem....call me an idiot but i have no idea how to work the damn push pins.... I look all over and could find no answer to my question...I also tried changing the cooler on my GPU that has the same push pins and nothing....I push down on both of them.....try lifting the heatsink (After taking out the fan and the screws....) and nothing...i try turning it...nothing...the heatsink it's self actually lifts off but I cant get the actual screws off to let it go and make the replacement possible...sorry for the stupid question but any help is appreciated.

You are going to LOVE the answer. You have to TAKE THE MOTHERBOARD OUT OF THE COMPUTER. On the back of the motherboard you can see the push pins, using some needle nose pliers squeeze the little barbed pieces together and push back through the mobo. It's real fast, ONCE you've taken the mobo out of the computer. ;)

And there isn't any other way that might not damage the motherboard, so just grit your teeth and do it.

oh JOY :)......thanks for the answer....I asked on the other forum and the guy suggested that if i didnt plan on reusing them I can take a plyer and pull slowly......I had this horrific vision of my ripping out a chunk of my mobo though So I took the little mofo out....and did it your way.... thanks :)
