Hi, this is my first post here. I know this may sound very dumb, but I don't know ANYTHING about computers. I'm a University science student, but if you asked me simple things about a computer, I would not know where to start. Here's my probelm: Right now, I'm using Windows XP, I have a router, Linksys, but instead of using it, I just want to use the internet throgh the Cable modem, and not through the Router. I tried changing the settings but it seems that it doesn't work. Can someone help me changing the settings from using the interent through the network setting using a router, to just using the interent connect without a router, just through the Cable modem. What kind of modem do you have for the internet connection? Google the modem model number and setup and you will likely find some good information. If not, tell us what you have and maybe we can find something. Regardless, let us know what happens.
