I have a pay as you go nokia (model unknown) which I wish to remove the sim card from and put it into a defunct 6300 (ex contract). Both phones are on the Orange network (therefore do not need unlocking?)but as soon as I put the PAYG card into the 6300 it asks for the security code. I don't know it and as the 6300 is now upgraded to a 6500, the message says 'Sim card registration failed'. Is this a problem with the 6300 or the other Nokia? I am totally clueless as to the next step. Any help greatly appreciated, many thanks, Gaz

Sorted, I've discovered that Imei numbers are found by keying in *#06#.
