The company I'm working got bought by a bigger, world wide company.

And today, when I got to work I noticed this b*llshit; irritating colorfull stupid desktopbackround has appeared to my comp.

Cannot change the backround from properties, its disabled from there, and I cannot choose "set as backround" from internet explorer

we have to put up with that 'brainwashing' too, sometimes they give in and allow us to change it. otherwise i just make sure to keep background covered at all times. of course the registry changes for this are not allowed and punishable by sacking, as are most things except free thinking :)

It was either locked out of the registry, or by group policy. In either case, which you can lock out the registry in GPE, the only way to change it now would be to get into the group policy.

If you can get in, it's under User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Desktop\Active Desktop - Active Desktop Wallpaper.

Change it from Enabled, to Not Configured.
