CDF= Channel Data File, also known as channel dump file.

It is a preconfigured file of your channel data for your provider and area. when you scan for your channels you can save this file to your PC so that if at a later date you start loosing channels you can hook your PC up box and then download the CDF back to your box therefore saving you the hassle of rescanning and sorting your channels back into the saved order,

It is also helpful to other people who can not find certain channels using the scanning method, say if you lived near me and you were on the same provider and having trouble finding certain channels, I could send you this CDF and you could put it on your box and you may get the channels back that you couldn't find using the powerscan.

    All the best.
